How to upload photos

Adding photos to a page is straightforward. The wiki automatically optimizes images for you, so don't worry about file size or format — just upload what you have.

Step 1 — Upload the photo

  1. Click Upload file in the left sidebar (under Tools)
  2. Choose your file
  3. Give it a meaningful name (e.g. "Cast 1988E group photo Munich.jpg")
  4. Optionally add a description
  5. Click Upload file

Supported formats: JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, SVG.

Step 2 — Insert into a page

  1. Edit the page where you want the photo
  2. Place your cursor where the photo should appear
  3. Use the Insert image button in the toolbar (visual editor), or in wikitext type:
    [[File:Your-file-name.jpg|thumb|Your caption here]]
  4. Save the page

Image sizing — don't worry about it

You can upload full-resolution photos straight from your phone or camera. MediaWiki automatically generates thumbnails at appropriate sizes for display, while keeping the full-size original safe.

Photo guidelines

  • Only upload photos you own or have clear permission to share
  • Consider others — if a photo includes other cast members, use your judgment about whether they'd be comfortable with it appearing here
  • Add a caption describing what the photo shows (year, location, names if known)
  • Photos with text (like scanned program covers) are very welcome — they're part of the historical record

Uploading many photos

If you have a whole album or scanned collection to add, contact an admin. We can help you upload in bulk rather than one at a time.

Removing or replacing a photo

To replace a photo with a newer version, go to the file's page (click the photo) and use the Upload a new version of this file link. The old version is kept in history.
